SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 19
(By Senators Anderson and Whitlow)
Congratulating the Summers County High School girls' basketball
team for winning the state Class AA girls basketball
championship.
Whereas, The Summers County High School girls' basketball
team ended the 1994 season with a record of twenty-one wins and
five losses, earning them a berth in the West Virginia state
girls' basketball tournament; and
Whereas, The Summers County High School girls' basketball
participated in the state Class AA girls' basketball tournament
for the seventh consecutive year; and
Whereas, The Summers County High School girls' basketball
team participated in and won the state girls' basketball
tournament for the seventh consecutive year; and
Whereas, The Summers County High School girls' basketball
team is headed by coach Ron Williams and assistant coaches
Wayne Ryan and Doug Trail; and
Whereas, The outstanding sportsmanship and dedication of
each of the team players contributed to the 1994 Summers County
High School girls' basketball team's championship win;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the Summers County
High School girls' basketball team for winning the 1994 state
Class AA girls' basketball tournament for the seventh
consecutive year; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to head coach Ron Williams;
his assistants, Wayne Ryan and Doug Trail; and to the principal
of Summers County High school.
